They do have really old packages sometimes. CentOS (and other RHEL derivatives) for example have kernel 5.12 which is not good for running any modern desktop hardware and do have SELinux enforcing policy running by default. In comparison, Fedora has all the modern packages and sane default settings for a desktop machine.

I'll stick to Proxmox with ZFS partitions and being able to choose whatever distro for each KVM or LXC instance. Sometimes you want enterprise, sometimes you don't cause of its packages being too old, I should be able to freely use them as needed.

One small problem though, I got some important files on my pc, so how the absolute fuck do I transfer every file from my Windows into a external hard drive? If possible that is.
