'fraid that's too low, i want at least 6 cores for my needs and would prefer 8 for future proofing. What about some of the brands, like dell xps? gt any experience with those? I know i would be better off building a desktop but right now i simply don't have the space unfortunately.

also when i said thin i mean like a 2015 laptop, not that apple hipster raisin in your pic but sadly even the new windows laptops are copying apple in that regard.

Fallout 3 is already a buggy mess on Windows. You're not gonna have a good time on Linux.

 β„–9754

>>5956 (OP)
Install the game by running wine setup.exe
Install steam, download proton experimental
Install lutris, add game, select proton experimental as runner
launch game

Try using the Heroic game launcher first, it is basically a Steam proton shell for major storefronts that are not steam and it was made specifically for GoG and Epic. Then try to run it with Lutris as some autist should have a preconfigured way to run Soyout 3 in the install search.

I think the issue you are running into is the game waiting for you to tell Games for Window Live to fuck off. Tale of two wastelands a total conversion mod to integrate both Fallout 3 and New Vegas which is the only sane way to play 3 anymore probably strips out all the gay Window's annoyance-ware.

I guess the NVCLEAR option would be a Bottles install with it prefixed to run Games for Windows Live upon start up to tell to fuck off.

>I'll wait a few years until the nigger cc6cii already has support for Fallout 3 in his raisinty OpenMW.

using different versions of proton sometimes helps but its good to read the logs of the crashes and then update what you can and/or google the crash logs.

sometimes its just hardware to drivers not cooperating

I never understood the use-case of JVM, to abstract the machines specific implementations for portability, that's what an IR is for, why all that hassle creating a VM? I suspect it's a maneuver from Oracle to lock corporations into their ecosystem. They say JVM programs are portable, but it's only in a JVM, so are they? I might be missing something here, so correct me if I'm wrong.

I remembered that Sun started this raisin, so it's the same.
>Sun generated revenue from Java through the selling of licenses for specialized products such as the Java Enterprise System.
I don't know what oracles does this days, but it's probably something worse.

 β„–11686

To allow the exact same code to run anywhere the JRE can run. Back when Java was made there were tons of active noncompatible processor architectures and their extensions. These days and with easy cross-compiling it makes less sense.

Good evening everyone,
Is there any wizard here willing to walk me through setting up a Debian install with the following:
1.Plain disk-encrypted root
2.USB boot key(s):
β€’One for the UKI
β€’One to store the first half of the encryption password
3.Kernel signed with my own key
4.Extract hashes from TPM for Secure Boot using my own PK + db
5.Prepare cert files (cut to fit UEFI limits)
6.Create + sign UKI

void also has a pretty good approximation of FreeBSD's Ports system, you can clone a repo of all the xbps packages and build them with custom flags and such
it's a little more annoying to use than Ports but overall useful for building out raisin you don't need in heavy packages like browsers.

that's good when you keep reinstalling it. if doing it once after a while and intend on keeping it for a while, script is irrelevant. might as well manual all of it just to make sure
