Why would you NOT use enterprise distro? It just works and you don't have to spend 4 hours a day fixing your system.

As of Flatpaks there actually are no very good reasons to not use Alma as a daily driver. All the gui apps will be up to date anyways. Too bad I'm addicted to getting latest and greatest packages as soon as possible.

Some they/thems like to tinker with their system. If it "just works" then there is nothing for them to do. I assume this is why most people distro hop.

>pick new obscure distro

>spend all your time fixing it
>get fed up when their goon sessions are cut short due to system instability

They do have really old packages sometimes. CentOS (and other RHEL derivatives) for example have kernel 5.12 which is not good for running any modern desktop hardware and do have SELinux enforcing policy running by default. In comparison, Fedora has all the modern packages and sane default settings for a desktop machine.

Why do you use loonix if the only thing behind your distro choice is just werks? Might use jeetdows with the same logic.

I'll stick to Proxmox with ZFS partitions and being able to choose whatever distro for each KVM or LXC instance. Sometimes you want enterprise, sometimes you don't cause of its packages being too old, I should be able to freely use them as needed.

because jeetdows DOESN'T work
