I enjoy osu but
>>28198 is a fact.
I found some really good lesser known music through this game before but the biggest problem is that most songs in the game are not good.
I haven't played in about two years because I started getting too much arm/wrist pain following a long boredom streak with the game. I do have some grievances with osu though.
A majority of the songs are tranime intros and jpop/jrock, a minority of the songs are non-anime/non-pop songs, and an even smaller minority of them are actual good songs by an artist or band.
A good thing they did to flesh out the list of songs was artists letting their songs get Featured on Osu. You have actual (albeit) modern artists and bands encouraging beatmap makers to use their songs.
It really makes no difference though because no one is making beatmaps with good music besides that.
The second biggest problem is that all the players only PP farm dogwater maps with bad songs so that is the only type of beatmap that gets made.
Adding on to that, the top players use an entirely different sub-set of skills and mods than the rest of the more casual playerbase does, so a lot of beatmaps are tailored toward better players using them. This leads to situations where you have a 6 star map that plays like a fucking 8 star because it calls on tech skill only 8 star players practice.
Lastly I fucking hate Osu!Lazer. Faggot peppy is pushing an entirely new ranking system that grades slider accuracy along with that version of the game. The game is already hard enough but now you will be graded on an extra metric that wasn't there before and doesn't matter ultimately. I really really do not like or want Lazer no matter how many bug fixes and ui changes there are in it, I like the normal client.
All of that just to say, yes I really do like the game but I don't like the metagame that everyone else is playing.
