I don't think "grooming" was or is the problem with Melee. Most Melee grooming allegations turned out to be false or slander like westballz or Zer0. Zer0 and Nairo were much more high profile but they don't play Melee they played Ultimate. Zer0 was a false accusation and Nairo was a gay rapist iirc.
