It is overall. It does the same things but more sophisticated and with more direction. The 'funky' part is also really groovy and top notch compared to Funky Dung, although I prefer the latter more in a way. Gilmour just shreds like a beast on it and I like all the riffs and noodling he does more than on Echoes. Echoes has some great work from him though and the effects make it sound awesome.
