>>98450Issue came back today but worse. Started at 1400rpm so I tried parking the car in a lot and restarting and it started to run out of control. Kill the engine when it peaked at 2800rpm.
Managed to get it reasonable enough to limp home. TPS was reading 20% throttle at idle so I swapped it with an OEM one. Hasn't surged so far but I'm not holding my breath on this being the magical fix. Something is definitely leaking on one of the vacuum circuits. Main culprits are EGR, vent solenoid, fuel pressure sensor, or the new regulator.
>>98741>could be a dead/dying alternator. when your alternator raisins the bed the ecu sees the lack of amps and tries to compensate for it by raising your idle. I had that when my alternator died. The alternator is brand new, but something funky is going on with the charging circuit. This is the third alternator. I've got a new battery cable sitting but it's been a matter of finding the time to tear apart the engine bay so I can get behind the engine.
Car is a former cop car so it's specc'd with a 200A alternator from the factory, GL671 if I recall. This issue sprang up after replacing the Throttle body with a reman that didn't have worn bushings/bearings.
