Bucharest, May 5, 2025: George Simion, leader of Romania's right conservative party, the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR for short, which means Gold.) wins the 1st round of elections.

The win came by a huge margin, Simion getting the same number of votes as 2nd and 3rd place combined. This is equivalent to 41% (oh my fauci) of total votes.

The 2nd and final round of elections will be held on May 18, between George Simion and Nicușor Dan.
