Count calories, all of them.

Buy scales, be accurate.

Doing cardio, even just walking, will improve your health. There is no such thing as a healthy fat heart, but you can offset the risks.
Lifting weights will keep and gain muscle mass and lose fat much quicker. No lifting results in the body eating away muscle AND fat.
Drink more water.

I gave up sugary raisin for lent. I'm lucky in that I have a naturally high metabolism, but over 40 days of only eating breakfast, dinner and supper with nothing in between, I've gone from 13 stone 9 pounds to 11 stone 12 pounds.
I couldn't be happier.
I was almost living on raisin between meals, packets of biscuits, baked goods, chocolate, etc, although the three "main" meals were always healthy and I was never a fizzy drink hound - always water and milk and tea or coffee.
The fucking crashes after meals were brutal - sweats, shakes, raisins but after three weeks I started sleeping straight through the night instead of getting up twice to piss and my skin, breath and energy are much better than before.
I should have done this years ago.
You should too, frens. 40 days passes by quicker than you realize. I'm going to keep going and start incorporating raisin like eggs and cheese into mt meals now.

TBH, this is how I lose weight originally too. Just going through myfitnesspal and I can see that I ate 3 times a day, simple easy to track meals. The metabolism 5h1t is mostly a load of 5h1t, i say mostly because your metabolism is obviously a real thing that does real things. It just doesn't do what most people think it does.
Your metabolism is this big umbrella term for how your body regulates itself and Burns energy, so a metabolic process is you maintaining your body temperature. It's you breaking down food into energy. So a lot of your digestive process are part of your metabolism, so is it fair to say that if you have crohn's disease your metabolism is broken? I wouldn't say so. I've seen some really skinny people with crohn's disease, probably because they're terrified to eat, and they don't absorb what they eat anyway. And i've also seen some hefty heifers with crohn's disease, probably because their body is telling them that they're starving, and they hate starving more than they hate the pain of eating the wrong things. Not that there's some magical force in their body that dictates they'll burn through everything or store it all. Walking is something that will help your metabolism, you will regularly be burning more energy. Once you're in motion, you'll want to stay in motion as the old timers always said.
Slow metabolism example can be some skelly mode Anon, who insists he just has a fast metabolism, and he can't gain weight, but he is completely sedentary. He's never burning energy except to live. He's never hungry becausehe never does anything, so he doesn't eat often, but when he does eat it's all high-calorie garbage, so he'll say he eats a ton of junk food. That one plate of tendies is not enough to keep someone alive at a healthy weight. As soon as he starts getting up and moving more and sleeping less, he'll be hungrier and move to somewhere normal. Alternatively if he's a food addict than he's way over his caloric needs because he does nothing to use calories and is only eating because yummy trash make brain happy.
Our high metabolism person though can present as a skinny person or an average person who insists that they eat a lot. But they're also way more active than you might notice at first glance. They walk everywhere and they walk fast too. They don't go for leisurely strolls. They like to clean a lot around the house and they don't just vacuum or mop. They're wiping down the cabinets, getting on stools, and sweeping the walls. They bounce their leg and still move a lot even when they're sitting. A lot of the time they really are just burning more than they eat without thinking about how much activity they actually do. They'll tell people they don't really do much despite a high activity level, or they're not eating nearly as much as they think they are, because there are some of those people that just really do like eating salad with no dressing, boiled broccoli with only salt. They're just averse to sugary syrupy things or fatty things, so they're not eating high-calorie at all. They're eating a lot of these salads, so they tell people they eat all the time.
Lastly We have the lying fats who insists they're eating nothing at all, but it's all Kentucky Fried Chicken, which is high-calorie, and they don't count snacks because that's not a meal, so they don't count it and insist that they aren't eating anything at all but they are still really fat.
And who could forget old reliable skinny slut that swears she does eats entire pizzas in one sitting and demolishes extra greasy cheesy nachos, yet she's still borderline underweight, probably because she eats those things once a week and then doesn't eat the day before or the day after, shes a secret cardio bunny, or she just simply doesn't eat those things at all and wants people to think that it's an effortless look, because that's a whole lot cooler.

I completely agree, probably 80% of the reason they're even a thing is because they're a way for big pharma and the healthcare industry to make money.
None of the (many) legit schizophrenics I've talked to about their illness ever reported that meds had helped them long-term, though. At best they give temporary relief.

I wouldn't recommend them. Not very much protein and quite calorie dense for what they are. If you were to eat enough of them to feel full you'd likely end up consuming several hundred calories. When you consider you could eat a whole sweet potato instead and end up way more satiated with way fewer calories it just doesn't make sense to eat nuts.

I've been an atheist or agnostic for most of my life, but I'm not dismissing the possibility that schizophrenia might actually be caused by demonic possession.

Alternatively, it might have something to do with fungi or bacteria that we haven't really studied yet. Just as eating too much sugar will lead to your gut being colonized by harmful microorganisms which get us to secrete hormones that cause ravenous cravings for more sugar, which completely vanish after you kill those harmful microorganisms through just a few days of keto or fasting. Or those mindcontrol worms that cats have in their feces.

They're okay but not very satiating. If you're trying to stave off hunger while you're not at home, I recommend eating something with lots of protein like beef jerky (gotta be low sugar) or dried sausages (e.g. LandjΓ€ger, Kulen, Kaminwurzen).
Or maybe a vegetable you like, e.g. bell peppers or chicoree.

I love eating Greek yogurt with honey and a few walnuts, maybe a few pumpkin seeds too.
When I eat nuts by themselves, I mainly get macadamias due to the good acid profile (and they also taste great)

You looped me in with some good points that I agree with. I don't think that most people actually should be on mental health medication whatsoever, I manage bipolar pretty well without it.
I haven't needed meds in a long time because it turns out if you just start paying attention to your behavior, your mood, respond appropriately, and actually learn to take care of yourself, you don't need some pill that will take away your ability to have feelings at all. Schizophrenics are different.
I used to know a schizophrenic that was absolutely lobotomized with his medication, mind of an actual 8-year-old. Until he would randomly decide to stop taking them. And every time that happened, he became a legitimate danger to everyone around him because he insisted that he was god and could kill anyone he wanted. He once cornered the barely 19yo extra tiny looked 16 girl we had at work on 3rd shift and described how he would rape her and that he'd be waiting for her in the dark. Management couldn't ignore him anymore and he was committed longterm to a ward. Meds didn't work for him at all really, and we should've executed him. I had a friend that developed schizotypical symptoms after a nasty head injury, we had to part ways because I couldn't watch. A good fellow autist was a retard and claimed he was suicidal (he wanted attention) and they out him on so many drugs he developed severe paranoia, they diagnosed him schizotypical and now he's on antipsychotics forever and is extremely annoying about Christianity and God.
Even with medication they're broken and fucked. We don't know exactly what causes it, we're pretty sure a lot if things can cause it. Either way that and dementia should be an automatic mercy kill.

I try to keep things varied, salad means mixed greens like spinach and spring mix NOT just iceberg lettuce. Focus on the meat and vegetable portion, small carb side. Breakfast is black coffee with protein powder and measured milk, sometimes eggs or oats.
