Why is fake wrestling called pro wrestling and real wrestling is called amateur?

Because one makes money and the other one doesnt. However, the Hulkster is about to change all that.

gayEW changed that

AEW isn't a shoot promotion, they're about to be just as irrelevant as WWE. Both are completely irrelevant to this conversation.

I'd love to see freestyle wrestling catch on.
That's actually a great cover for bringing back kayfabe.

Exactly. It's literally the only way that kayfabe could ever possibly exist again.

Killing kayfabe was the beginning of the end. Wrestling was best when there was room for being a mark, even if just a little bit.
I wrote a manifesto on /pw/ some months back about restoring kayfabism as the only way to restore wrestling - leaning into being marks despite knowing it's all fake.
I still believe there's a kernel of truth in that.

Theres something I've been wanting to post but I know it's going to sound like bullraisin. Awhile back, maybe 6-7 months ago or so, I was talking to an anon on /pw/ who strongly hinted that he might be Eric Bischoff. I figured it was a larp, but then I thought
>what if its actually him?
Like yourself, Ive come to the conclusion that we need kayfabe back. Its pretty much the only play left. So I told "Eric Bischoff" that I had an idea for him. I said "theres no way I can make this happen but you just might be able to." I told him that the only way to make wrestling great again was to make it real again, and that it should be freestyle wrestling because greco-roman style would be too limiting. I also suggested he come up with a unique ruleset designed to make the matches shorter and more interesting. Anyway, its an awfully big coincidence that the real Eric Bischoff is now doing exactly what I suggested. Am I a schizo for thinking that maybe it was actually Bischoff? Also want to clarify that I'm not really trying to take credit for this idea because I know I'm not the first person to ever have this kind of idea. They tried shoot wrestling in Japan and it never really took off, but it might just take off here if Bischoff and Hogan play it smart.

/aspwooo/ has like 50 posters and 10 of them are absolutely actual known names in the industry. Wrestling is the only major form of entertainment both small enough and carny enough for it to be real that Haitch and Tony take stock of the opinions of people who call them, eachother, and occasionally themselves faggots, niggers, and retards on anonymous Cambodian macrame websites. There's such a mixture of unchecked narcisism, mental illness, skeeve, sleaze, antisocial behavior, and shameless self-promotion to a microscopic level in the industry that makes its stock and trade in blurring lines between truth and lies, where even backyard mudshow raisinters are never really beyond a comeback no matter how many people they grift, rape, or murder. I bet the list of people who have posted on anonymous wrestling imageboards is probably so fucking insane.

What I'll say is this: if your story is true, I'm willing to buy that it might be him.
That's part of what makes anonymous image boards so much better than, say, reddit. You could be talking to anyone. Any when you call someone out, there's a chance maybe they end up seeing it. And no one will never know it's you. There has to be an appeal of doing that even when you're a somebody I'd imagine.

Matt Cardona and Ryback seem to be two names that come up a lot, but yeah theres definitely rasslers who try to promote themselves on the chans. For me its a red flag when someone is really hyping the raisin out of one particular wrestler and getting mad when people criticize them. But sometimes those are also just nerds and simps lol.

I swear this story to be true on the power of Hulkamania brother. Dont know if it was actually him but it would sure make sense if it was. I figured if it was him, he could probly carny some rich jews into putting up the money and that seems to be what he did.
