The Goldust character in 1996 was as anti-dimes as it gets. If you have nothing better to do then you should watch some of Goldust's megapush in 1996 and then watch an episode of Nitro from the same week. It sinks in why 1. Goldust never had a serious main event title reign and 2. why the WWF was getting absolutely fucked to death in the ratings. He's fucking raisin. Everyone on faggy websites like Youtube, Twitter and Reddit always say dumb retarded raisin like "Oh he had so much heat they chanted FAGGOT at him! Different times amirite XD" BULL raisin the crowds were always dead when he wrestled. His matches were slow and BORING PISS BREAKS. The original Goldust might be the most overrated, over-discussed character of his era who never actually changed raisin (Sorry Brian Pillman but you're gonna settle for number 2)

I personally chanted "faggot" at Goldust in the 90s. He really was hated, and with good reason. But everything else you said is spot on. Everybody hated the Goldust character and it wasn't the good kind of heat. It was go-away heat, especially since WCW wasn't doing any of that gay raisin. Vince clearly just made Dustin do this gimmick because his dad was a rival booker at one time. Talk about petty. Vince was like

true story, one time a friend of mine was going to be on the jerry springer show because his old lady fucked his brother. It didnt happen because his old lady wouldnt go on the show and admit she fucked his brother lol. But anyway, when my friend was on the phone with Springer's people, he was told

I worked with a guy who was on Jerry Springer and another talk show at the same time. I think it was Jenny Jones or another of the women hosts from that era. He had started dating a 30 year old single mother with a 10 year old daughter when he was 14, married her when he was 18, divorced her when he was 22 and married her daughter. It was 100% a shoot. I met the mother and daughter and they were both okay with it somehow. Very weird fucking family.
