Started a 1.21.1 instance in Neoforge. I notice Sodium is updated for Neoforge, but it supposedly has issues with some mods. I also noticed Embeddium was updated, and rather than Oculus, 1.21.1 uses Monocle + Iris in order to use Iris with Embeddium. I know shaders are a meme, but if I want to run shaders, should I just do Sodium + Iris, or Embeddium + Monocle + Iris?
№6043[Quote]

№9166[Quote]

I have my multiblock kitchen set up but the CfB crafter does not detect recipes requiring Farmer's Delight UIs, like the cooking pot's
№9281[Quote]
>>9166Sorry for the belated response. I don't personally use it because I like cluttering areas with dozens of stations/blocks, but a quick google search had a question similar to yours. Do you have your pot on top of a heat source?
№9361[Quote]
>>9281>a quick google searchI always do a quick google search before asking semi-personally.
My google searches didn't really bring any satisfying answers, so I hoped maybe an anon would have some piece of arcane advice.
Yeah, my pot and pan are placed on the Farmer's Delight stoves, those being adjacent to my CfB multiblock kitchen.
From what I've read people don't really know the answer either, though some modpacks supposedly have figured out how to make the two mods compatible.
>I like cluttering areas with dozens of stations/blocksCooking for Blockheads takes up more of my kitchen than Farmer's Delight, anon. What do you clutter your kitchen up with that comes from Farmer's Delight and isn't just the stove and the pot?

№9389[Quote]
Question for making modpacks. I've never played a modpack in my life so I don't know what a quality one looks like, but I'm making one for my own survival world with updated textures, fixed recipes, etc. for consistency. Do modpacks usually remove a lot of blocks/items that would be considered "clutter", or do they just leave them in but ignore them? For example, I have TFMG for its oil mechanics and metal blocks, but as I also have New Age and C&A, that would mean I have THREE sets of electrical motors, connectors, and wires. This is just one example with the mods I'm running. Should you normally remove such conflicts and iron out any inconsistencies or do they usually just leave them in? Don't reply if your answer is just gonna be "do what you prefer".
№9398[Quote]
>>9389Do whatever you pre-
Really, the "conflicts" are so incredibly minor that they leave them in. Ideally, you have some way to see which mod an item/block is from, and if you know what you want to use, it's easy enough to just ignore the others. I use four different decoration mods that add chairs, but I only use the chairs from one of them. The same could be said for your example, where you may prefer to only use one mod's generator, another's wires, etc. Of course, you should iron those out and see if they do conflict or not, but nine times out of ten, you likely won't see any problems if you just leave everything enabled.
№9421[Quote]
>>9374Based, I'll show you my kitchen if you show me yours
№9576[Quote]
>>9374So, I downloaded the mod and read up on how it works. By all means, what I have here SHOULD work. Every video I opened, every image I've spotted, and everything I've read shows that this is how it's meant to be. As you stated though, this just doesn't seem to work. I even went to the mod's discord to try and find answers, and all I could find are people asking if Farmer's Delight is compatible, or if the Cooking Pot can work with the multiblock, all to no avail. Nobody has a concrete answer, and I'm leaning on the "it doesn't work" fence unless there's some secret nonsense needed for compatibility. It's not like there's a lot of things possible with these blocks, so I'm at a loss too. Any recipe that DOESN'T need the cooking pot works, but the cooking pot just refuses to cooperate.
№9579[Quote]
any mod recommendations that have a linear questbook? not any expert stuff, i don't care what version
№9585[Quote]
>>9389Don't look at what other modpacks do, most modders are tasteless morons. Either leave only one set of each machine type or gate the superior/more scalable types behind progression.
№9591[Quote]
>>9576You'd figure that the number 1 cooking utility mod would have full compatibility with the number 1 (on nuversions) cooking mod.
№9604[Quote]
>>9579Modpacks or mods? Sevtech has very linear, structured, gating-heavy progression, although it uses advancements and not questbooks. Create: Above & Beyond expects you to follow the questbook with one or two branching paths and wiggle room to skip certain steps with manual labour or the shop.
№9636[Quote]
>>9576>By all means, what I have here SHOULD workthat's the best part, isn't it?
Anyway, thanks for going above and beyond the call of duty modern warfare.
I'm still curious about these rumored modpacks with working compatibility between these two mods, it must mean the authors cooked up some bit of jury-rigged code to make them behave.
>>9591you WOULD think that, wouldn't you?

>>13764? If so, I think I know why you didn't really get any responses; the selection of mods on the most up to date version is really bad. Absolutely none of the good gun mods are available, and there's barely any good mob mods. You're better off dropping down to 1.20.1, because it's got significantly more content. Go visit Modrinth and search those mods.
For guns, either go Timeless & Classic or Vic's Point Blank. For mobs, you'll want to look at everything under Modrinth's mob tag.

All for versions 1.7.10 or earlier, I still play em every now and then. As for later versions (these are usually cleaner), anything FTB makes is usually very good. A secret tip is Craft of the Titans 2, I really enjoyed it back then.

Most considered GOAT modpacks are usually expert modpacks like Enigmatica 2 expert, Divine Journey 2, GTNH, Meatballcraft…
I would also recommend The Lost era.
Also FTB has good modpacks of varying genres(some of them are only on their launcher but you can import them pretty easily on other launchers after you download them), for example they have packs like University and Academy that focus on teaching mods to new players, a bunch of expert packs etc.
