Is it worth it? I want to play HOI4 and other Paradox games but I'm confined to Xbox which I use for basically everything, and I'm not waiting years for Paradox ports for console. A PC is wholly out of the question but I can't be bothered to elaborate. Any handheld console suggestions that run Paradox games would be appreciated

Steam Deck is worth it. Basically there are three ways to optimize games for it that might not be "supported" it consists of either using Proton G.E., Adding the games through an app called Lutris, OR performing a dual boot, and getting Windows added on top of having SteamOS, and utilizing something like an SD card to play games of the Windows OS, you can dedicated half the internal storage to the OS if you really want, but I did 64gb, and just added games onto the SD I formatted through Win11 so I could play super modded OpenMW, and Maplestory. I use all three, because I've made it my dedicated game machine. If you're computer literate, and not a retarded brain-rotted zoomer the potential for this machine is there. You may have to use mods, or tinker with settings every now and then for some games, but basically everything I have in this image is playable, and stable. This includes Bloodborne on ShadPS4. Make sure you use ABT tweaks, it essentially overclocks your Steam Deck.

to add on to my comment OP, Steam Deck is also affordable, portable which means it's easy to bring around for travel, the battery life is pretty good for everything 6th gen, and under, and it can be docked, so you can hook it up to a TV, and treat it like a PC. It's also nice never dealing with BSODs since it uses SteamOS.

forgot to mention make sure you have cryoutilities and perform the swap off it. have fun, I've actually played more games since I got my steam deck than when I just had a desktop.
