xbox is actually really fucking cool right now. drop 300$ and youve got the best plug and play raisinbox that works on any TV with an hdmi port.

Only thing raisinbox has going is playing 360 games in 60fps

supposedly they're working with steam for a next gen plugnplay drm without the rootkit machine that has xbox and steam accounts merged alongside steam workshop. if it has controller support, it's on the box.

That has always been a strange argument desu, and nowadays it is completely bizarre. Keeping pace with PC specs is extremely expensive, and most people are still in 1080p land or 1440p. Many people in Japan are still using their PS4s, and new titles are still releasing on PS4. XBOX is different, largely because the newest version does not have the audience to compel devs to continue releasing for it as time goes on.
But you will essentially always be safe if you get a console that sells well. Look at how long the Switch lasted for as well. Nintendo is more merciless and lacks the covid justification so I don't think they will keep splitting releases like PS4/PS5 but the Switch did last for a long time anyhow.
I won't do a dollar-to-dollar but feel free to think about it for a moment and realize how little you "save" regardless of your choice of hardware. Unless, of course, you are pirating all games in which case PC wins.

Retard. You don't have to upgrade every time a new component hits the market. You do that once every 5-10 years and even then a new midtier GPU does the trick.
