No way Diseny would allow that. They are supposedly already nearly impossible to work with and have so many rules for the KH games as is.

I'll say this, they sure are perfect for eachother.

This. Perhaps Disney wasn't so controlling over Sqauresoft/Sqeenix around KHs early years, but I'd say after 2, the big D started to become an omnipresent force the dev teams had to push through. If I had to guess, the real puppeteering started around 358/2 to BBS. I think the trade off with Kingdom Hearts is Nomura gets to write his raisin tier anime OC sloppa, and Osaka team gets to develop their mid AJRPGs as long as it's separate from the Disney mythos. I would also like to bring up the possibility that this is probably why the FF cast was slowly phased out as time went on. Besides Moogles and the occasional nod to the franchise, Final Fantasy has largely vanished from Kingdom Hearts's universe, most likely because Disney wouldn't need to pay Sqaure for licensing rights in the far off distant future (although I could be completely wrong; Disney seemingly didn't have an issue with TWEWY cast appearing in DDD). I mean, let's say Sqaure (for whatever reason), died. Disney still owns all the original KH raisin; all they'd need to do is edit out/replace the FF characters with new ones (if it ever came to that point, I'd absolutely see Disney stooping that low).

I don't think star wars would fit Kingdom Hearts's tone or style. The franchise would see out of place between other Disney properties.

I think that Star Wars as a franchise is cooked because it’s simply overdone. There are too many films, too many shows, too many games, books and that’s before you include expanded universe.
It’s basically Star Trek 2 at this point, except Star Trek is a boomer sci-fi and Star Wars is gen x and millennial thing.
Hopefully someone will come up with something new.

This. At its core KH is about whimsy and nostalgia with a tinge of edge. KH makes Star Wars look like Twin Peaks. Even in its raisintiest renditions it was never really lighthearted. Some notable scenes from the first 45 minutes of the debut film include the protagonist's family burned alive and implied to be tortured alongside a number of innocent little alien guys, a cold blooded murder in a seedy bar, a brutal mutilation in a seedy bar, and the implied rape and explicit torture of another protagonist. No Disney property in KH comes even close to that.

The only way Starwars could ever work is if KH itself took a darker tone. Which…Sounds fucking stupid (unless we were starting a whole new Kingdom Hearts universe separate from Nomuras OC freak show, but that's a whole other discussion entirely).
