Starting with Breathless is probably the best way to go, then just go chronologically from there. If you end up enjoying La Chinoise, continue with his more radical political stuff in the 70s. If not, go straight to Hail Mary or, if you're into experimental documentaries, the History of Cinema.

Alphaville for sure its a good movie

also you can go with band a part (for me his best movie) and continue with Vivre sa Vie or a A bout de souffle. If you enjoy them for sure can watch Week-end or Hail Mary. Or just enjoy Bardot's ass in Le Mepris.

Avoid 70s red movies like they are awful.

With Godard it's actually very simple, all his COLOR films plus the B&W debut Breathless are on the "good side, where "good" ranges from at least light comfy watches to Citizen Kane tier all-time great masterpieces, and all his B&W films plus the emergency potboiler quickie Made in USA are on the "all th rest" side, which ranges from mid-okay-fine pictures to what the fuck was he thinking joints. Godard is indisputably the GOAT color artist.
