>>22959It's not over-acting, they're playing characters who are all extremely emotionally immature and that's the point of the film, is that these Wall Street people who figured out ways to cheat in a rigged system and started making millions of dollars were able to dress themselves in suits to make themselves look somewhat respectable but in reality they are literally a bunch of sociopaths, junkies, and sex fiends and perverts who you wouldn't even trust to walk a fucking dog.
Another point of the film was to show that the only people who are stupid enough to look up to or idolize these "Wolves of Wall Street" are guys so pathetic that they couldn't even sell somebody a pen, and it's only because they're such idiots and nothing-masters that they get suckered into believing that these Wall Street guys are somehow smart or clever or genius salesmen because they can lie to stupid boomers over the phone.
