If you can't make human friends, you can still make AI friends.
Having mock social situations can be significantly better than having no social interaction at all, and the risk is nonexistent, so there's no real disincentive for trying it.
Maybe crutches or a wheel chair is the analogy to draw here, use your imagination.

Telling social rejects to socialize seems like a fruitless endeavor that will lead most into dejection and eternal frustration.
Bots have reached a stage where more people are considering them "good enough", and they have fewer drawbacks.
I can't see the downside of this if it at least soothes their lifelong problem without affecting anyone else, but I can see a big list of upsides.
No requirements, no judgement, no betrayal, no schedules, etc. etc.

We're talking about people who are already mostly removed from society, what's the harm in placating their primal needs synthetically? Without this they would just be slightly more miserable and even less likely to become eventually sane. At least this is pseudo practice / exposure.

I rarely even indulge with these things outside of perversion, but even with surface level insight - the pushback against these feels way more insane to me.

It's mostly used for erotic roleplay judging by the /aicg/ threads on cuck. That's arguably worse than the other media in the OP. Especially women get addicted to it like crack, which is not surprising seeing how they get off to smut like men to video porn. With an AI able to generate any fantasy scenario they want they get completely goonbrained.

This is the role of modern tech / society. coddle you into a warm little hole, and away from being a problem. You will eat the bugs, you will consume the media, you will concern yourselves with issues that are not significant, you will buy the products that you are told to consume. Its not just here; its everywhere in the western world, and ultimately we do it to ourselves.

I'd argue that the apparently increasing hyper-sensitivity to diversion from 'right-think' on the left is a out-growth from this. It isn't good, and it isn't healthy at any level.

I'm sure we will get (or already have) 'AI' driven bots on the other side that will have closed loops on engagement. Sure advertisers were already closed loops, but no need for a human in that loop anymore.
