yeah it's all proprietary but it's miles ahead of Atmel/nxp. still shit albeit; I like the ST microcontrollers a lot in general.
most of my stuff is rp2040 sdk because I like to work with that framework but if I didn't have that and also didn't want to use Arduino st is def a solid option.
