EPIC REDDIT REPLY BELOW
ive only ever used kernelex with windows 2000. for various reasons, the number of people who are going to even attempt using an old version of windows with an extended kernel in the capacity of a primary machine, and not just for some specific purpose, is vanishingly small. i have an XP 64-bit machine for authoring documents with office 2002, financial analysis, watching movies, and listening to music (i am infact using it right now to watch LOST) - but i would never use it to browse the internet, program, or run virtual machines - because even with an extended kernel, i will still be limited in what applications i can run and the hardware i can use (due to poor driver support). in respect to software, you will be at the mercy of chance. it's surprising how many modern up to date software applications will run on an old version of windows like 98 or 2000 with an extended kernel. it is equally surprising how many modern applications won't run on a relatively recent version of windows like 7 or 8. if you were to try using an old version of windows (and im talking older than windows 7) with an extended kernel as a primary machine, you would at some point have to resort to using citrix, X2go, or some other bullshit to run applications on a more modern machine remotely - which would defeat the purpose.

and so what i'm basically saying is that these extended kernels are nerd shit and if you really hate the modern windows user experience you should just use linux or install ltsc with openshell instead

why are you retards so obsessed with the ltsc crap? its literally the troonix of windows editions: special snowflake os only used by coping retards, and full of random broken shit that will never be fixed lol

in respect to random broken shit i would imagine ltsc has less of it than pro or home edition. maybe enterprise is even better than ltsc - i wouldn't know, because i don't use windows 10 or 11 outside of unlicensed server edition in a virtual machine
