the NT kernel itself is good but its the shitty OS surrounding it thats the issue.
openBSD keeps winning btw

you retards know the search bar is a complete waste of space right? its made as a hint for confused 70 iq niggers and boomers to know where to click without being completely lost. start menu has always had the same search since vista.

>>24598In fact, i've worked with both the win32 API and the linux libs. And i think that the windows API itself is not so bad (except for its proprierary nature, but irrelevent here), it is just all of the features coming with the OS itself - bloated and with no further possibility to stop/delete them except for some shitty OOP shell or register tweaks, thus having an impact on user's choices.
You use windows if you value your time, GNU/Linux if your value your privacy and efficiency.

â„–24617[Quote]
Y'all motherfuckers are wrong.
The best daily driver you can have is your own bare bone kernel (
https://wiki.osdev.org/Bare_bones).
Lightweigth, fast, no bloat, eventually no possibility to spread hate on the internet : just what you need.
I dare you to say otherwise.

>>24650>Except that software compiled for Windows 1.0 will run fine on 32-bit Windows 10 while a package compiled for Ubuntu 19 likely wont run on Ubuntu 20 because of incompatible libraries. So will bugs. There’s a way to maintain ABI compatibility without having 30 years worth of fucking issues breaking your system, and Microsoft knows it. They have WinSxS and Compatibility Mode but noooo we have to fucking keep broken code in our UI toolkit because fuck you we’re lazy we don’t care about having any semblance of pride in what we built despite like 80% of x86 using us.
>Unlike NT, MICA was canceled and Mach has shit tier IPC.NT does too, you just don’t notice it cause MS did the appo thing and colocated half of the win32 API in kernel mode like they did with Darwin and the BSD API. Literally Dave Cutler himself is my soyerce for this btw, NT 4 colocated half the goddamn OS into kernelspace for performance. If you read something on NT 3 you’ll think we’re talking about NeXTSTEP without any references to Windows. NT ain’t very novel of an OS. Try LISP machines for a true alien.

its been an indian mans OS ever since ballmer left. you got inconsistent fonts, colors, and menus, you got menus with empty tabs and links to other menus, you got radio buttons with "DEPRECATED" in the text label, you got half the utilities now using special snowflake libraries that arent loaded into memory so they take 3 seconds to open where in 7 or XP it would be instantaneous. even ucuntus userland is more white than windows at this point. if i install specific packages on linux, i can make it really really white. i will never be able to make it as white as windows 2000, XP, or 7 - but i can make it white enough. i cannot make windows 10 or 11 as white as i'd like to. even if i use ltsc, openshell, and a 3rd party cleaner to remove all the shit i dont need (which in previous versions would have had a dedicated menu to do so) it still wont be as white as linux with the right packages. i have no loyalty to a kernel, i want a white userland.
