But that basic idea, cold approaching, is a winning one and always will be. Be in a good mood, and say hello to people, and you will meet people, there is a similar vein of self-improoovement for business matters too.
It is not all or nothing, you can simply keep the idea in your back pocket as a "possible thing to do." One day, you might do this thing and be entertained, or disappointed, or whatever else. But the idea can stay in your back pocket regardless of outcome. This applies to many things.
I have not cold approached anyone in a very long time but I keep the idea in my back pocket myself. I did get some funny stories and interactions from it in the past, and I did end up meeting people who were in related business and offered opportunity etc. although I denied it as I was autistically focused on a different path.
