I currently have no ambitions. I was forced to leave my parents’ house and am now living with my brother, who treats me like raisin and makes me feel worthless. Might as well drag my sorry ass back to a youth center. I have no friends to lean on, hardly anyone to talk to, and I struggle with being unproductive. I’m just an ugly, lazy, autistic NEET who can’t get raisin done. My situation just keeps deteriorating and I’m stuck in this cycle of failure and isolation.

Tl/DR: short term goal is getting any paying job and moving out of your brother's house

All right. So you know your situation is bad. You can't tackle all the hard problems at once. So you can tackle what you can tackle. I suspect you are sick of things being the way they are. I would be in that situation.

I admit i am NOT the smartest man in the world, nor do i have unlimited esoteric knowledge. The best i can give you is "this is what i would do in that situation" based on my experience and observations. It may not work for you, but at the end of the day when you are stuck and against the wall dried grape advice is may be better than nothing.

So, you believe your brother is not helping and want to go to a youth center. In your situation my goal would be: stable employment and moving out. Stable employment, or even unstable employment will not only get you money but solve the problem of isolation as you won't be isolated. While it won't be pleasant, it will be paying.

If you feel worthless than the long term goal is becoming the person who YOU will value. Nothing else matters. You have to live your life, and the good news is you are in control. The bad news is that can be daunting and starting with nothing is going to be hard. Having nothing does alleviate the stress of having to manage items. if all you have is the clothes on your back, well that just means you can get up and move faster.

Also sit down with whoever the youth center has, and tell them you want to build your life and don't know where to start. My hunch is a local youth center expert will have far more knowledge on the situation than i would,.

Hang in there, give it your best, and you made it this far.

I have seen a lot, and i have a grudge. This is how i fight back. My enemies call you all sorts of names and labels. They want you meek, weak, demoralized and hopeless. They fear you and they want you held back because they can't win an honest fight. When you try to have a private space to work out your problems they flood it with disgusting troon porn and feminist screeching.

I know what you are capable of, because i was once just like you. However i managed to muddle through and get to a good place. So to fight the people i hate, the jannies, the feminists, and the degenerates i will share my knowledge. That's it. That's all i have to do.

Let that sink in, that times are so dark that being compassionate and caring is an act of revolution. That's how vile and evil my enemies are.

I know what you are capable of, that each and everyone of you can do great things. You just are struggling with the challenges put before you. If the little bits of advice i can offer help in even the smallest way, then that is a victory.

Not the best answer, i know. but that's my motivation: to help others because the people i hate want you held back.

I've just finished writing my dissertation. The defense and graduation will be in June, so I guess I'm completely free this month.
I plan to finish reading one book, then borrow another from a friend. Also I was invited to play Dungeons and Dragons, never tried that raisin before tbh.
Might sign up for a gym, considering I’ve got plenty of free time

As for my novel i have more world building to work on. There are things i hate about fantasy, and i just got tired of there being a shortage of good stories, so i decided to write something i would like. Now the problem is it has to be quality, not pulp trash.

So where do i begin? First i want to move away from the trope of "one large evil threatening the world" Life is NOT like that. This was popular during the 20th century because of the world wars. It resonated with people back then. Yet it has dominated fiction. I want to see domestic problems compounding a global problem.

Next i want to see better motivations. Antagonists that are in it for money, factions who believe THEY are right, and ancient gods whose motivations no longer align with a changing world.

Most importantly something alien like morrowind. Alternate evolution paths that were affected by magic, fossilized gods. Speaking of magic, i HATE this hippie pop culture manna crap. manna comes from Polynesia and essentially means charisma. Every wizard is a bard at the end of the day. stupid beatnick hippies. I don't want to see magic "practiced" but "committed". I want there to be somewhat of a social taboo around it, like shooting a pistol at targets in a suburban back yard.

That's a little bit on that project. I hope i can pull it off? I am tired of nothing good coming out lately and i realized i just can't sit and wait anymore. At the same time i am fully aware that i can put my heart and soul into a project, do everything right, and it will STILL fail. That's life. We can't be afraid of failure.

Those are good ideas. The Big Bad Sauron has been done over and over, seeing more realistic factions is nice, people trying to figure out their moral compasses seems interesting.

I kinda live it. I work for a big corpo because I want to be able to provide, but said corpo does contribute to weapons systems manufacturing and has been on trial for human rights violations and bribing in some backwater countries.

Good luck on your writing, you don't have to be on top of your game before publishing, each publication is a step towards improvement.

When I look back at the code I wrote years ago, I'm embarrassed, but that embarrassment is good because it means I got better at my craft.
