TL/Dr: find a genre you want to read, find a book that interests you, sit down and read it at your own pace.
>>42199This is good advice. some friends here even shared some free books. They even showed up clean on virus total
https://www.virustotal.com/gui/home/uploadI have a problem too where i start a book, then stuff comes up, leave it unfinished, then get another book, start that. Gonna have to sit down and just work on finishing them.
I think i will finish king in yellow first, then hard tack and coffee. Some books are easier to read than others. Hero with a thousand faces is just brutal. it's informative, but it does not hold my attention. Same with the intelligent investor. That's a good goal for me, just allocate time each day to slog through unfinished books.
As to starting a good reading habit, find a genera you are interested in, and start there. part of how i developed my habit was being in the navy and being on the ocean for months at a time. Someone left a diskworld book out and i started with that. That's a good series to get into because it seems you can start with any book. Thud was what i started with.
also gonna have to be that nerd that recommends the local library which depending on where you live has other stuff for you. Getting familiar with the library would go a long way for this and other goals: you got books to read, you are around people in a relatively judgmental free environment, it's quiet. Another benefit is when you borrow books you have a set amount of time to read it, so that adds a condition to your goal that will help you meet it.
It's good seeing people here help one another and share advice and books. Hang in there friends.
