>>94650 (OP)>I miss 2011 /mu//mu/ was my homepage until around 2015 then the election tourists fucked it up and it never was the same since.
I blame tourists but after 2018 is when it really got raisin because the mods were clearly KPOP fans and only cared about KPOP.
I remember raisinposting a few sing-along threads with parody lyrics and I got 3 day banned for being "off-topic". Music is on topic for a music board. Low quality maybe but that's also just a mod preference.
The mods and jannies got really touchy when you didn't take their board and their music 100% seriously.
Fuckin trannies the lot of em.

>>94691Young people just don't care about music as much as other generations.
Music and making band was a way to make friends and hang out, the internet killed that and as a consequence music isn't as important as it used to be.
You couldn't even upload webms with sound at /mu/, what a fucking joke.

you can't just recapture a zeitgeist that's been dead for a decade+
there are some decent threads up and it's nice, but it's not the same and never will be, and that's okay and it's okay to mourn what once was even while still generating new discussion.

>>95975>you can't just recapture a zeitgeist that's been dead for a decadeIdk how long you've been on 4chan, but people say this literally all the time, even when things happen. You don't have to be demoralizing ya know. Have fun with it.

>>94802>Young people just don't care about music as much as other generations.shrimply isn't true, one of the few things zoomies get right is keeping music scenes irl instead of online
β96103[Quote]
>>96095And yet their scenes are dograisin and all the big bands are copying millennial and gen X scenes
β96105[Quote]
>>95062Yeah that's one of my favourite Miles album
Only other releases that capture the feeling are from Hancock and Shorter around the same time like Maiden Voyage and Juju for example
Freddie Hubbard was an adventurous band leader and composer, too, you may enjoy his work especially Red Clay
Another good one is Search for the New Land by Lee Morgan
Around this time is when post-bop splintered and most of the best musicians went into fusion, it never really recovered after that.
β96124[Quote]
>>96103incorrect as well, you should try actually getting involved in your local scene instead of making sweeping assumptions; it's evident you don't get out much
β96132[Quote]
>>96124Try giving even one single example instead of projecting
raisin is deader than a door nail out there even with it being easier than ever to distribute music
There's virtually nothing good out there let alone thriving indie scenes
β96162[Quote]
>>96132I can't give you an example of your local music scene
I live in a capital city in the midwest and there's a diy venue with free - $10~ shows daily with most of them being full
there's another 3 venues in the 100-500 capacity range that have more niche bands (100s - 20k listener bracket) pretty much every month that also usually fill up
if you go a few hours out into the small cities there's house events every now and then and small fests every few months
