I mean if only those break action air powered ones then yeah but if gas powered ones are legal; they are about the same size as a regular pistol

I know a person who would scare away strays in her yard with a BB gun, this is no doubt more powerul. Im assuming you're just trying to repel the attack

Grab the legs and pull outward like a wishbone.
Dogs don't have true rotater cuffs and you can dislocate the legs quite easily.

This guy knows. Jamming your finger in a dog's ass will typically get them to release their jaws, but they can always reattack.
Best bet is stabbing in the eye (potentially difficult target), ear, throat (potential to hit victim) or chest. Or choking them out, especially with a belt.
Cleanest answer is wrap the throat with your weak arm and then make like a sewing machine to the rib cage with a knife in your strong hand. Same as for people.
