How do Euros do things without cars? Do you always commute with trains? If you don't have a trainline running through your town do you use busses? How do you schedule your train and busses for work if you live out off the town? I'm not a train autist btw I was just thinking about applying for work in Euroland.

I don't drive by car because I'm too scared and it's exhausting.
Year ago my dad and I bought some expensive electric bike and I felt freedom of riding further with much less effort.

How good is riding by a bike in your place in the US? :o Here they build biking lanes because on most of the roads there are too many cars. But sometimes there are roads between villages where only 4 cars ride per one hour and they aren't dangerous/annoying.

He uses it to travel back and fourth between machinery since we live in a rural are so it cuts down on walking time

At least here in the capital is kinda supeeer car centric.
Being fair, the city does have a metro but it's kinda awful in some parts (40 year old trains???; some places of the city have only one line towards them so if your stop is somewhere in between it gets packed; innovation/improvements focused in only some parts of the system while others are like sh1t; if the metro fails, everything else fails; people throwing themselves into the line; no direct metro connection to the airport; no ring line; etc) and it also has a bus system but it has some of the same issues that the metro system has.
So yeah you're better off buying a car
Also I know we had a tram back in the day but they removed it due to cars becoming a thing.

> smaller cities
Every family has 2 cars, public transports exist but very few people use them
> bigger cities
Most people use public transports to get to work even if they have cars: it's much more convenient
As for scheduling your commute, there are probably many different options even if you live in the suburbs: just use an app/website to compare them when leaving the house

In Finland we use bus. There is one for morning to go work and one to get home from work. Then weekend shopping bus leaves at 11 and returns at 17
