Yeah, I re-watch old shows when I remember they exist, as long as it's been long enough that I've forgotten most of the details, otherwise it's kind of boring.

No, finding the content is pretty easy. Everything is available on s.to and bs.to, but I've watched literally everything.

I'm on 20 new cards a day, is that excessive?
I just don't want to be spending an hour on anki daily, maximum 20 minutes for me

In my case, I'm rewatching some anime that I originally watched dubbed in English 10+ years ago, dubbed in French.
It's hard to imagine running out of content at this point, because even in English there's a ton of shows I wanted to watch that I never had time to. And many others I wanted to rewatch that I haven't seen since I was in high school.
But if I came close to running out, I would probably start watching a lot of documentaries and listening to audiobooks.

It seems like there's endless content, but eventually you run out, at least the good stuff. I binged 4 seasons of "You" in about a month and it was only ~40 hours total of immersion. It's like a drop in the ocean of how much you really need. TV shows are perfect for me because it's so easy to do 2-3 hours a day, but I can't concentrate for that long on an audiobook or documentary. Here's an Obsidian graph of every show I watched in the last ~2.5 years since I started tracking (~115 shows and ~15 anime). Before that I wasted probably thousands of hours watching stuff in English.

These language learning podcasts can be wild lmao. The hosts somehow went from talking about some legend/folklore to asking one another and the listeners if they would fuck a passing tranny in the same episode.

I like walking in the forest, so audiobooks and podcasts would be great for me. Too bad I'm a Deutschlet. Maybe with French I could do it, but I'm nowhere near finished with my backlog of animu, TV series and movies.

If you want people to learn your small obscure language, the least you can do is make a starter pack with some essentials, like a good Anki deck, grammar, some beginner content and some piracy links for native content.

Depends where you want to go. I would say American because it's a lot easier to have a "neutral" American accent. Accents in the UK are very regional so you will stand out as an ESL

 β„–181848[Quote]

>>181226
Forgive me, senpai. I must learn French and German first.

 β„–181866[Quote]

>>181848
Why would you learn French?
>>181437
I'll use English only for tourism and all sorts of international communication I suppose. There's some extremely minor possibility I'll go to Britain relatively soon and a bigger possibility I'll go to America much later in life, but those both are minute possibilities.
I honestly don't even know whether I actually need to keep using English as my primary media language. It looks like a playground language truly, you learn it the first, it lets you to explore all those international thingies in general sense, and then you realize it's extremely overrated and the only use for it is to talk to literal niggers.

I always wanted to learn German until highschool where we had German classes and I decided it was not for me. It's a cool language but I don't enjoy learning it, I would like if in future I somehow could install it to my brain without effort.

The only bad thing about German is that you can only experience learning it once. Truly I have not regretted a single day spent with this beautiful language.

 β„–184549[Quote]

Is there a website where I can watch movies and shows dubbed in french, but with available subtitles?

 β„–184764[Quote]

I want to know my TL but don't really care about speaking it to anyone. I just think it would be cool to know a new language. Is anyone else like this?

 β„–184778[Quote]

>>184764
Mate, I doubt anyone will reply to me in the languages I want to learn.
But the idea of translating stuff to them seems cool as an exercise lol.

 β„–184794[Quote]

>>184549
Dubs with matching subs is just not a thing in any language. Best you can hope for is generating them yourself with Whisper AI or similar AI transcription models until you get passable results. If you're willing to pay money though, Lingopie is a streaming service specifically designed for language learners so all the subs should match, but it's pricey and not every piece of content is available due to licensing agreements and such.

 β„–184828[Quote]

>>184764
Same. Already know 2 languages but learning another one even though i hate talking to people and will probably never even use it.
Basically for me i'm not really learning it to be able to communicate with others, i just like the process of learning a language itself.

I want to speak my TLs well some day, but in the short term I don't care and I figure the more I comprehend them now, the easier it will be in the future if/when I decide to practice output.

I know they are different, but the meaning is the same or very similar, I just want the subs to catch something I couldn't hear or understand. Apparently every website with dubbed content has no subtitles.

also what does "acabado el mundo" mean?

 β„–188777[Quote]

That's a clausula absoluta de participio, which means it takes place before whatever is the second clause ("debes contemplar" in this case). I'd translate it as: Once the world is over, you shall ponder.
