Many weird things happen here, here are some that I could remember right now:
>In 2011, bodies of young girl began disappearing from multiple cemeteries in Moscow. Later they found the guy who did this - it was Anatoly Moskvin, a linguist, historian and journalist who knows 13 languages and was well respected in the scientific community. It turned out that he was stealing bodies of young girls and turning them into full-sized dolls via mummification. By the time they got him, he had managed to make 26 of them.
>On September 22nd 1999 in Ryazan a local called the police when he saw three guys hauling mysterious bags to the basement of an apartment building. When the cops arrived and saw the bags, they called a bomb squad, the squad detected explosives in those bags and disposed of them. After the police department started an investigation, the FSB officially declared that the bags contained "just sugar" and that they put them there to "test how quickly and professionally would the local police react to it". However, no proof of that was ever given to the journalists, and the chief of police has never backed down and still says that those bags were full of explosive materials. The case later became known as "The Ryazan sugar case".
>On september 13th 1999 an explosive device detonated on the Kashirskoye Highway. Later that day during the parliamentary assembly Gennady Seleznyov, the chairman of the parliament, in his speech said that the explosion happened in Volgodonsk, even though the Kashirskoye Highway is located in Moscow. At that time, nobody paid attention and everyone just assumed that he had misread something or just mixed up the two cities for some reason. But then, just 3 days later, an apartment building in Volgodonsk exploded. This prompted Vladimir Zhirinovsky, a member of the parliament, to call out and interrogate Seleznyov during the next meeting. However, multiple other members of the parliament interrupted in speech and provoked him to engage with them, which then enabled them to use his reaction as an excuse to banish him from the parliament for one month. Seleznyov's "accidental" "prediction" of the terrorist act was never mentioned there again, and no investigation was launched. All transcripts of the parliamentary assemblies (including the Sep. 16th one) are available on the site of our parliament EXCEPT for the Sep. 13th one, which would only make sense if they were trying to hide something from us.
>In 1971, government officials in the Sverdlovsk Oblast were perplexed by the fact that they hadn't heard basically any news nor received any reports, documents or taxes from a village called Rastyoss in almost a year. When they arrived at the location, they found out that the whole village, that was supposed to have hundreds of people living there according to the 1970 census, was completely abandoned. Moreover, some of the houses had moldy unfinished food on the tables or pieces of clothes left in the wardrobes.
