Presidential Terms
The Board is governed by a president, who is elected via popular vote for a term of 30 days. A president may only be re-elected once
Presidential Elections
To become president, one must win the election. The campaigning stage for the election lasts 7 days. At the end, all those who campaigned are included in the presidential poll. However, falseflagging as another candidate to harm their campaign will result in immediate disqualification. To win the poll, a candidate must obtain at least 50% of the votes. Otherwise, the three most voted candidates will compete in a run-off. Here, whoever receives the most votes will be inaugurated as the president of /dem/ the day afterwards. Elections are administrated by the administrator, who acts are the board’s permanent chief justice
Presidential Duties and Powers
A President has a large amount of power over the board. He may shape the board to his likening and establish a set of rules, as well as appoint up to 10 janitors in his cabinet. After the end of his term, all staff accounts will be deleted.
Impeachment
A President may be removed from power with a no-confidence vote. This may be requested by Requested by the userbase or triggered by the president violating the constitution. A no-confidence vote takes 2 days to pass and needs a 2/3rds supermajority to be effective. If the president is removed, they become ineligible for the office, and their vice-president becomes acting president. If the vice president is also impeached, then the chief justice becomes acting president
Parliament
The board also possesses a parliament. The number of seats of the parliament, which is currently 20, may be expanded or reduced. The parliament is renewed every 30 days with elections, lasting 3 days, taking place in the middle of a president term. For a law to pass in parliament, it must be approved a simple majority. The president may, however, veto the bill, in which case it must be approved via popular vote, with a simple, 1-day poll.
Constitutional Modifications
The constitution may be modified or added by the current president with a constitutional referendum. The proposal for a constitutional referendum must first be approved by parliament. If approved, it goes to popular vote, in which it will need a 2/3rds supermajority to pass. Certains sections of the constitution, which are marked in Bold, may not be modified or deleted.
