Presidential terms last 30 days.
Upon the conclusion of a presidential term, all /dem/ staff accounts are removed.
The campaigning stage lasts one week. Once it is over, all parties who campaigned in the campaigning stage are included in a presidential poll.
You are allowed to form coalitions in the campaigning stage, however, only one president can be elected.
The victor of the presidential poll becomes the president and gains a broad range of permissions on /dem/. He is able to adjust the board to his liking and has the ability to appoint 10 board staff.
A president may only be normally elected once. If a president wants to be elected more than once, in addition to being the victor of the presidential poll, they need to obtain 50% of the votes.
Any and all /dem/ bans set by board staff will be revoked upon the conclusion of the incumbent president's reign. This rule may not be adjusted.
Presidents may be impeached with a no-confidence vote. These are done by me if there appears to be general disapproval of the president's policies. A no-confidence vote requires a 2/3 supermajority to pass and takes 2 days. This rule may not be adjusted.

These board rules may be adjusted at the request of the incumbent president with a 2/3 supermajority vote which takes 2 days to pass. Impeachment procedures may only be modified with my approval.

Papal pontificates are indefinite. Popes are only replaced through the resignation or removal of the previous pope. There may only be one pope at a given time. A president may not be a pope at the same time.
Popes are nominated by the current president and approved by the public with a 2 day majority vote.
Popes may be removed with a papal no-confidence vote. These are done by the president. A papal no-confidence vote requires a 2/3 supermajority to pass and takes 2 days. Only one papal no-confidence vote is permitted per a president's term.
Popes have the default site permissions of a president, but in disputes the actual president would take seniority. At the same time, the pope may never banned from /dem/ during their term. They are not permitted to request board changes from the site's administration.
In official votes, including changes to the board rules, but not their own votes, popes are able to support a side by capcoding in the vote thread (if not applicable, in their sticky). This grants the chosen side a bonus 15% at the final vote tally (e.g., given A-40%,B-10%,C-50%, supporting A would shift the vote to A-55%,B-10%,C-50%).
Popes are permitted to sticky exactly one thread. The president or his board staff aren't permitted to interfere with it in any way; effectively, the thread serves as a safe haven for anybody who isn't banned from /dem/ (including the pope himself if the president takes a hostile approach towards him).
Popes are permitted to adjust any current presidential laws (not board rules) with a 2-day majority vote. Should such a vote pass, the incumbent president will not be permitted to adjust the law for the duration of their term. However, a president opposing the vote is able to force it into a 2/3 supermajority to pass.

Any president or pope breaking these board rules shall be impeached or removed respectively.
