Most people dont own homes and are renters or some mortgage payer. Most rich kids dont really own a home unless their parents bought. The median household income in usa 100k. Most people dont own anything.

I'm going to be so fucking rich with no mortgage payment.
I think I'll get a Corvette ZR-1 in 2030.

They might be poor but they have a place to call their own, they also aren't cucked to government bullraisin such as property tax.
You will still need to pay property tax btw.
Westerners are actually poorer than Africans because most are in the negative net worth, nobody owns houses. That's pretty surreal when you think about it

>>11909 (OP)I bought a house, but I'm reconsidering whether it was a good choice. It has probably been a boost to how fast my net worth is increasing, but if I move and don't sell the house within the next 3 years I'd have to pay capital gains taxes on any difference between the buy and sell price, so my mobility has been hampered somewhat. I also have to pay to heat and maintain the entire house, rather than just a portion of an apartment building.
I could buy a second house or rent an apartment and rent out my current house, but then I'd be more likely to have to pay capital gains taxes when I eventually sell. Realtor fees are about 6% too and the seller usually pays all of the fees.

β11986[Quote]
I just dont see the point of owning a home as its a liability.
Family decided to own three homes and rent them out, but its just a burden.
The value you gain is taxed away like everything else, inflation steals the value and then you've got mandatory property taxes/rates/council taxes and then the maintenance costs of the property.
Then you're capital is locked in a home and land and subject to the rules of the always changing democracy.
Its just not worth the fucking hassle.
β11988[Quote]
>>11984I suspect you're trying to express: in order to make use of the increase in value you'd have to become houseless, meaning you have to pay rent, and because most things cost more nowadays the amount of money you got from selling the house would probably just get spent on rent rather than anything more useful.

The entire "market" for everything is pretty much rich people buying and selling to each other. lmfao.
If his home is in a prime location and not bum fuck no where, he has no issue.

Nah just chill ..I didnβt buy a house until I was 30+ and I have quite a bit of wealth now. Back in 90s only soyβs gave a fuck about owning a home before 30. House prices coming down over long term now anyway.. saved a few frens from fomoing 3 years ago prices here down 30% from then .. Itβs a new era of stagflation and higher interest rates so house prices will fall back to fair historical value which is 3X gross income .. just sit back and relax ..enjoy your life
