I myself have never called anyone a newGOD but myself and have only seen it used by zelligers in a couple of threads from what I recall
at first zellig may have been shilled by one guy but it was adopted into the culture, and to touch on your example, yes, if a large number of teens decided to adopt averi it would become part of the sharty culture too, thats simply how culture works.

As I said previously your gripes with the current state of /qa/ arent irrectifiable, I even agree with your assesment of it. But it can be fixed without banning zellig or waging a defacto war on it. Hostility breeds hostility, this makes the issue more polarizing by the day. one side feels wronged so they seek to wrong the other. "why shouldnt we spam the board, they already hate us and banished us from soy, fuck em" "why should we put up with them they are coaling up qa, fuck em". As such it is harder for both camps to come to an agreement and work together. I dont want to sound like a fag but I do think we should resolve this situation cooperatively, with zelligers cooling it with the spam and for zellig to no longer be put in the same basket as der cord and tranime, and to no longer have to worry about its right to exist on the site (maybe even getting its own board for containing the spam). You may think it doesnt fit with the site but the 2 are still strongly connected trough history and many teens wont just let go of it. In the end both zelligers and antizelligers are soyteens that come to the same site to enjoy the same humor and culture.
It is also important to note that the problems you claim killed /qa/ are at core just people having fun

I believe zellig does add some flavor to the site. While you may think its just tranime dust that doesnt belong here I believe it adds some much needed contrast and variety to the site which combined with its history, in my opinion, does make it deserving of being a part of the sharty.

Like I said in the beginning, I wanted my post to be a compilation of my thoughts on 'zellig. In some of the earlier posts, someone mentioned how some of the stuff I described would require moderator intervention and a coal police. For that reason, I tried to give examples on how we would reject a certain culture we dislike only to explain why we don't need jannies to do anything remotely significant.

It's a very toxic and disingenious factionalism. Notice how I squeezed the "valid criticism" there? That's because I have been called newphag multiple times while criticising 'lig posters. They often resortes to the "kway culture" argument too, which is why I hyperfixated on being "sharty culture" not providing insight on if it's actually a good culture or not. I'm sorry, but 'lig posters were really hostile and some of them still are. They should have learned responding to criticism instead of repeating the same toxic, ignorant statements all the time.

I don't really support a full ban of 'lig either, but I would want them to stick to limited amount of threads on /qa/, because it becomes really hard to ignore all of their posts when they are all over the place on 'log. The reason why I don't want a separate contamination board is it could require the creation of new board for every NAS culture and that's very unnecessary. Keeping them on /qa/ with limited amounts of threads is the best choice we have imo.

That's fine, it led you to discovering this site and that's great. I don't hate EVERYTHING it has generated, but I still aggressively dislike the core aspects. But it doesn't matter because just like you said, we are all soyteens and we come here to appreciate this site's humor and culture even if our opinions and tastes differ quite a lot.

I mean, I wouldn't even care about this that much if it wasn't for the dominance zellig had on /qa/. I believe it's tranime dust, but if you enjoy it then good for you! I could just hide the 'lig threads if 'zelligposters sticked to limited amount of threads like I described or had their contamination board back. Thankfully It's actually easy to live together with people you don't like on the internet.
And I want to say 'zellig has some impressive animation and it's character designs are quite memorable. I hate the moeshit and tomoko-like introverted neet aesthetic, but at least the production is impressive for a webtoon. Honestly, none of this would even happen if 'zellig posting stayed as a niche thing instead of becoming this big and leading to the destruction of a board. The damage can be repaired, and 'zellig can become a more tolerable culture even if I don't like it here.

Imo there used to be a kind of healthy balance wherein zelligsters would contribute to IAS content as well as discuss the show, now it seems like they just spam memes and it's very harmful.

As for your solution I agree. I wouldnt set a strict cap on zellig content on /qa/ but i would start deleting threads when its clear they're being spammed. I would also warn/temp ban people for meaningless bumps that serve to push zellig to the top of the log.

A lot of these issues haven't been resolved, and the reason it has dragged on is because of the massive amount of arguments this topic has spawned. I believe we need to move to a higher court (the thread should be moved to /qa/ for longevity). Trials can unfortunately drag on and on. This is a very long term issue.

Not even a frognigger. I was a little disheartened when the verdict came out. In the aftermath, I kept up my spirits by telling myself that we did our part. We had a chance to win a cause that is dear to us, and I feel that we did a good job, and we can take what little satisfaction that we can in the fact that this thing has finally come to a close.
